Background
Michael McKelvey is a Partner practicing in our Toronto office and is Toronto Regional Leader of the BLG Health Law Group. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1980. He graduated from Queens University Law School in Kingston in 1978 and was a recipient in May, 1978 of the Stanley Harwood McCuaig Scholarship in Commercial Law. Prior to that, Michael obtained a B.A. (Honors) degree in Economics from Queens University, and in June, 1973 was a recipient of the Andrina McCullough Award for public speaking.

- Michael regularly defends hospitals and other health professionals in medical malpractice actions. He also acts on behalf of hospitals and other health care professionals on other health-related issues such as privilege disputes, discipline before professional bodies, representation at inquests and wrongful dismissal litigation.
